I was lucky to join them as a guest. We were split up to search in different areas. I brought along my thermal imaging scope. It was hooked up via wifi to a Ipad. So what I was looking at the participants could view on the screen.
It made all the difference I think. We spotted 16x Ring tailed possums. They couldn't hide from us. Their warm bodies glowing like crazy in the thermal. Heaps of fun. The kids really enjoyed the night.
I also brought my bat detector. We found three species of micro bats flying around.

Join me for an exciting night walk. Mom’s and Dad’s, bring the kids. They will love it. No virtual reality here. Just the real thing. Remember when you were a kid. Did you grab the beat-up dolphin torch and search for frogs in the local creek?

Well, come and relive the experience again. This time here’s your chance to share it with your children.Nets are supplied.

What about looking for scorpions? Yes, that will get them going. We supply special “scorpion torches”. These make the bodies of these really cool critters glow green like you wouldn’t believe.

And the micro bats. Yes, another spooky creature. But, they’re harmless.  A bat detector is used to find them.

But best of all I use a Thermal spotter. Just like in the movies, spot the heat of the predator hunting us. I hook it up to a Wifi transmitter. So bring your phone and you see what I see. Is that cool or what?
