Albany Young Naturalists night walk

Three groups of the Young Naturalists were assembled to carry out a spotlight survey of Mt Melville. I was lucky to join them as a guest. We were split up to search in different areas. I brought along my thermal imaging scope. It was hooked up via wifi to a Ipad. So what I was looking at the participants could view on the screen.
It made all the difference I think. We spotted 16x Ring tailed possums. They couldn't hide from us. Their warm bodies glowing like crazy in the thermal. Heaps of fun. The kids really enjoyed the night.
I also brought my bat detector. We found three species of micro bats flying around.
Many thanks to Sandra for the invitation.
